Paver driveways not only look great, but are also designed to withstand the heavy wear and tear of vehicles of all kinds.  Pavers allow water to penetrate into the soil or sub-grade beneath the pavers allowing much less water runoff.  Paver driveways can be somewhat pliable since there are so many edges to allow for movement from freeze and thaw cycles, therefore cracking rarely happens.
